Staying afloat amongst all the planned activities can take a tremendous toll on your relationship with your children and husband. Now that you have decided to slow down, cut some things out of your planned schedule and spend some down time with the family, a brimming anxiety shoots through your body. What do we do now? Skim through our brilliantly fun ideas for a family fun night that everyone can enjoy. You will be shocked by all the smiles you will receive!

Create a letter to your family in the future - This project can involve the whole family. Even the little ones can have their say. Talk about what's new with your amazing family and the latest, important events. Decide when you would like to re-open the package... a month from now, a year from now or ten years. Reminding you what life is like for your family will help bridge gaps and bring excitement for big plans ahead.

Make a family mailbox - Children LOVE to receive mail. Add some zing to your family communication by creating a family mailbox. This is a unique outlet for your children to express their feelings and vent about something that may be troubling them. Also, makes an ideal place to pass along encouragement to all your family members. Purchase a solid white mailbox and have the kids decorate the outside. Dad can even help with setting it up inside!

Video and picture night - Break out those old movies and pop some old fashion popcorn. I was in the habit of making microwave popcorn so frequently, that both my eight and three year old boys had never seen popcorn popped on a stove before. This event in and of itself can turn into pure excitement for a three year old! The old movies will be a huge hit. Children love to watch themselves when they were babies. If you are feeling crafty enough, you could even break out some old pictures and place them into albums together. Have each child make their very own!

A family with a purpose is built on a strong foundation. Teach your little ones the importance of family and what it means to support and grow with one another. It is possible for a busy family to flock together and just be.
